Froakie (Japanese: ケロマツ Keromatsu) is a Water-type Pokémon and along with Chespin and Fennekin, Froakie is one of the three starter Pokémon in the upcoming Pokémon X and Y Version video game.

Biology[edit]

Appearance[edit]

Froakie is based on a frog which Froakie is completely covered in a blue skin with white fron paws. They have also a single, dark blue stripe that goes down at the center on their head which leads towards their nose. Their nose have two white or bubbles being unknown if it is indeed their white nose. Froakie have large eyes with yellow sclera with black irises, and white pupils. Around Froakie is covered which a short cape-looking coat which the color is white. Froakie's hand is white while their legs are the same color as its body.

Appearance difference in genders[edit]

The different between a male and a female version of Froakie has not been revealed.

The behavior of Froakie has not been revealed.

Special abilities[edit]

Evenly being a small frog, Froakie can jump as high as a three-story building. Froakie also has strong bubble on its chest that protects them from attacks from their opponents. They can also launch the bubbles at their opponents to obscure their field of vision.

It is unknown what Froakie's diet is.

Appearance in media[edit]

Froakie is making his debut in the Pokémon games: Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Version.

Known is that Froakie is one of the three starter Pokémon of the Kalos region that the player gets to begin of his long journey to become the Pokémon Champion of his/her region. As usual, Froakie cannot be found in the wild, to obtain such a Pokémon is to breed or to trade with someone else.

Origin[edit]

Froakie is based on a amphibian, which he has the appearance of a frog.

Name[edit]

The name Froakie can be a combination of frog, froth or croak, but his Japanese name Keromatsu can be a combination of Kerokero a onomatopoeia for a frog's croaking and matsu (Japanese: ) which means bubble or foam or from himatsu (Japanese: 飛沫) which means spray or splash.

Trivia[edit]

  • Froakie is the second starter type Pokémon that is based on a amphibian. The first Pokémon that is based on a amphibian is Mudkip a starter Pokémon from Generation III.
