Pokémon Dream Radar (Japanese: ポケモン ARサーチャー Pokemon AR Sāchā, literally meaning; "Pokémon Augmented Reality Searcher") is a downloadable application released for the Nintendo 3DS. The Pokémon Dream Radar video game is a augmented reality application which can capture Pokémon, collecting Dream Orbs in the Interdream Zone. It can transfer captured Pokémon and Items to the Pokémon Black Version and White Version 2 game card.

Plot[edit]

The protagonist of this video game is the assistant of Professor Burnet. Professor Burnet is a Pokémon researcher who is studying the Interdream Zone. Professor Burnet need help from the player to enter the Interdream Zone and collecting Dream Orbs. The Dream Orbs are coming from the Dream Clouds that has been showed directly after entering the Interdream Zone. Professor Burnet needs the Dream Orbs to study them or also can create a new support item if the player managed to show progress in the game. Professor Burnet also researched the legendary Kami Trio which contains to be Tornadus, Thundurus, and Landorus. All three appears in a more different form known as the Therian Forme. You as her assistant can help her with her research of the Interdream Zone by collecting more Dream Orbs and unlocking more extensions to make her research complete. She creates powerful equipment upgrade after gaining a large amount of Dream Orbs to succeed her research of the Interdream Zone.

Gameplay[edit]

Tornadus in his Therian Forme.

The gameplay in this application is that the player must capture many Dream Orbs to help Professor Burnet's study about the Interdream Zone. Professor Burnet is guiding the player about what he/she can encounter during their play, which the player must enter the Interdream Zone in order to capture many Dream Orbs that can be found. Dream Orbs are hidden in Dream Clouds which that the player must use the beam against the Dream Clouds in order to obtain a Dream Orb.

So far known, there are two types of clouds during the game, a pink and stormy cloud. Mostly in the pink clouds the Dream Orbs are hidden while in the stormy; items or a Pokémon is hidden. The pink cloud can increase and decrease its size while the stormy cloud has more of a glowing appearance. There is also another difference between pink and stormy clouds in a amount of Dream Orbs. When the player hits a dream cloud, it will break into three dream orbs, while mostly the second of third time is hit, it will double itself in two or three more orbs and will continue until the last one vanish. Sometimes there is no Pokémon or a item in the stormy cloud, which can also be just a usual dream orb, but when a stormy cloud has been broken, four dream orbs are making their appearance. The same progress of a pinky cloud also comes by the stormy cloud in doubling.

Breaking the Dream Clouds.

When each and every dream cloud has been broken into dream clouds, the game will be done and needs to restore to play again. The max time of playing after collecting dream orbs will be up to five minutes. There is also a bar that will allow the player can see how much he/she have to wait until the dream clouds fully restored. If the player is to hasty in playing another round, only one dream cloud is prepared. There is also another way to restore a dream cloud quickly by Play Coins, which the player must collect 5 Play Coins but it can only up until 3 times per day.

The dream orbs in the video game will change its color after capturing the main goal of the game which are the Kami Trio. The dream orb color can change into pink, orange, green and blue. To find a Pokémon or a item in the Interdream Zone, the player sees a glowing sphere that comes mostly from the stormy cloud. In order to capture the glowing sphere the player must hit the beam right to the sphere and once pressed, the player must follow the order of how the sphere moves, once the sphere breaks free from the beam the player has to relaunch his/her beam in order to capture the sphere. It has also a timer which means that the player must be quick in capturing the glowing sphere. If the player succeeds in capturing the glowing sphere and it turns out to be a Pokémon or a item, it can send them to the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 if the player inserted into its Nintendo 3DS.
