Pokémon X Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスターX Poketto Monsutā X) and Pokémon Y Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスターY Poketto Monsutā Y) are the upcoming video games for the Pokémon series. They have been revealed on January 8, 2013 on 11 AM GMT and 6 AM JST during a Nintendo Direct video stream by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS. It has been revealed on the same day that the two upcoming video games will be release in October 2013 and will be released worldwide.


The plot of this upcoming video game series are still unknown and will be revealed more in the future. Known is that the game will take a role in the brand new region: Kalos region. The player will start at the city named: Lumiose City. The region has been most likely been influences from France from the western world Europe.


3D Enchantment

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y version are the first two Pokémon main game series that will be completely in a 3-dimensional style of gameplay. A lot have been changed in the video game since Generation I which that the sprites has been changed into a 3D designed models which includes the characters, buildings, routes and, the Pokémon that the player will encounter during the video game. The appearance of a Pokémon battle or a encountering of a Pokémon has also been changed, as seen while the player and another person with him encountered a wild Pikachu during a stroll in the grass.


The Gyms has been remodelled to be into a 3D form. As seen that the female player has entered the Gym and is trying to find her way to the Gym Leader.

Battle System Enchantment

As seen in the trailer, the battle system has also been changed into a 3-dimensional style. In the trailer there were different kinds of Pokémon battles introduced. The attack of a Pokémon has been shown in a 3D style against their opponents and it will also even show how the Pokémon will unleash his move and evenly being seen how the Pokémon has been attacked by his opponents.


Known is that Gogoat can be used as transportation in the Pokémon series, seen that the game protagonist have been ridden on it. Also known is that the player also can have the use of rollerskating, which will be followed under the same condition as a bicycle.


The player can be customized from the beginning. Known is that only the player's hair color and their skin color can be change and nothing more.

Pokémon Trainer Battle

The Pokémon trainer battles has also have been changed more than before. Revealed is that the player will see almost the entire image of the type of trainer he or she battles.


Starter Pokémon

There have been three new starter Pokémon revealed on the Pokémon X and Y Version which contains to be:

These three Pokémon has been revealed to be the new starter Pokémon. It is unknown in which form they will evolve or if they their evolutions have a second type.

Legendary Pokémon

There have two new legendary Pokémon revealed which also contains to be the main mascot of the Pokémon X and Y Version video game series. The two legendary Pokémon that has been revealed contains to be Xerneas and Yveltal.
